The Msgr. O’Dwyer Retreat House began its mission of serving the youth of the Archdiocese of Baltimore in September of 1963 as the CYO Retreat House. It was the dream of the retreat house founder, Msgr. Clare J. O’Dwyer, that this sacred place was to become “A Spiritual Powerhouse for Young People” of our archdiocese and neighboring dioceses.
After Msgr.O’Dwyer’s death, the CYO Retreat House was renamed the Msgr. Clare O’Dwyer Retreat House. For over fifty-seven years now, we have continued the mission to serve the young church, as well as adults and all others who come to use the House.
We support and partner with the Catholic youth and young adults who “come apart and rest awhile” in order to encounter God in this holy space, and nurture their call as disciples of Jesus in the Catholic tradition.
